Carers Week

What is Carers Week?

Carers Week is an annual campaign held between the 10 – 16th of June to help raise awareness of carers, highlight the challenges carers face and to recognise everything they do for families and communities up and down the country.

Why is Carers Week important?

Carers Week is an important week to not only raise awareness of carers and the challenges they face, but to also help raise the visibility of carers to key decision-makers, businesses, employers, and communities.

It is also an important week to raise awareness to carers that there is support available for them. So by celebrating this special week, we might help those who are caring for someone on their own without knowing there is support available!

How is Carers Week celebrated?

The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities and highlight the vital role carers play in our communities, drawing attention to just how important caring is.

What is the 2024 Carers Week theme?

This year’s theme is ‘Putting Carers on the Map’. This theme is designed to help increase the visibility of carers across the UK. With this year being an election year, it’s an important time to show how important carers are to both society and even the economy. So by making our voices loud and clear, hopefully this year we can all help make a difference.
